Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf Has To Shoulder Blame For Raiders Las Vegas NFL Vote After some days of silence, Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf has elected to speak on the matter of the Oakland Athletics and where they want to build their new ballpark. And what she said was that the A’s have settled on either Howard Terminal or Laney College – but not the Oakland Coliseum. In other words, Libby said what many have known for some time: that the plan was always to have the A’s at Howard Terminal, and that the organization had concerns about the development cost of the land at the place at the Port of Oakland favored by the late Dreyer’s Ice Cream, and so held Laney College out as the alternative site. And all of that means… She could have given the Coliseum land to the Raiders and the National Football League, and in fact still can, save for one major catch: Mayor Schaaf, Oakland District One Councilmember Dan Kalb, and Oakland City Council President and District Seven Councilmember Larry Reid seem to want the Raiders gone off the Coliseum (it would seem so from The Council President’s behavior toward Bauce Man and Ray Perez AKA Doctor Death after the Raiders Fan Townhall Meeting at the Oakland Coliseum East Side Club, where the pair got after Reid for not giving the Coliseum land to the Raiders / NFL and arranging a plan to put the A’s at Howard Terminal, as Mayor Schaaf said she wanted to do in 2015.)
