The Detroit Lions Defense has stuffed the predictable Philadelphia Eagles Offense. The Lions played man for man and worked in creative blitzes that hounded Mark Sanchez. But the Eagles problem on offense is a scheme that has become predictable and absent the big play threat at wide receiver of recent years past. Philadelphia's Offense lacks sight adjustment routes and so can't take advantage of defensive weaknesses a particular coverage might reveal. For example one play had The Lions CB talking inside position and giving up the outside fly pattern; the Eagles receiver ran a deep in pattern and the pass was almost intercepted. If it were an adjustable pattern the Eagles receiver could have ran a fly - that is the fault of Chip Kelly. Stay tuned.
