The Detroit Lions Defense has stuffed the predictable Philadelphia Eagles Offense. The Lions played man for man and worked in creative blitzes that hounded Mark Sanchez. But the Eagles problem on offense is a scheme that has become predictable and absent the big play threat at wide receiver of recent years past. Philadelphia's Offense lacks sight adjustment routes and so can't take advantage of defensive weaknesses a particular coverage might reveal. For example one play had The Lions CB talking inside position and giving up the outside fly pattern; the Eagles receiver ran a deep in pattern and the pass was almost intercepted. It was 2007 when TechCrunch Blogger Michael Arrington announced Docstoc as the competitor for online document storage company Scribd by Trip Alder. Fast forward to this week and Docstoc has informed visitors to its website that it's closing down. Seems it's owner intuit is not into it any more. Jason Nazar sold it to them in late 2013 but maintained his role. He had raised $4 million prior to the buyout. What he got was not disclosed.

AMPAS, The Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences, has announced that its no longer issuing Oscars Setup Credentials. The email sites concerns for safety, which points to the tragedy in Paris. United Airlines Please Add Inch Leg Room In Economy On B737-800
I love United Airlines but even the best can be improved. One inch of additional leg room in economy class on the workhorse B737-800s would be perfect. As it is my knee caps are against the seat back and that is before the passenger in front of me reclines. It makes an ordeal of long flights. Adding one inch of room would wind up removing a row, but better that than losing customers. Fly the friendly skies.

The New England Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills 20 to 13 on Monday Night Football. But the game was marred by bad calls and questionable clock management on the part of the referees. The hallmark of this was a referee moving a ball in place AS THE CLOCK was running, thus robbing the Bills of time to score a touchdown that would have tied the game with an extra point. Instead the clock ran out. Game over.

Tom Brady's Rex Ryan Call Deals With Buffalo Bills Defensive Fronts Much has been made of the fact that the New England Patriots QB Tom Brady used a call called "Rex Ryan" against the Buffalo Bills, coached by the man of the same name. But it wasn't a joke so much as it was a way to deal with the wild and shifting Bills defensive fronts. Normally Brady or any QB will call out the middle linebacker as Mike and the defensive front as 3-4 or 4-3 or odd or even. But when the defenders are not set, you can't make that call. That is what Rex Ryan does - so the Pats made up a way to identify the Rex Ryan Defense. It tells the offense what kind of blocking to use and in this case it looked like straight man for man with a fold block in the middle. The Bills stopped it.

SF Chronicle's Oakland Raiders, Mayor Schaaf Stadium Article Is Classically Bad
The San Francisco Chronicle has contributed to the pool of bad articles full of completely wrong information regarding the financing of sports stadiums (http://ift.tt/1WQfbvJ). The November 12th version would have you believe that a lease revenue bond issue has to be paid back by the public - not only is that not true, but the person sitting next to Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf in the photo the SF Chron used was talking to her about the ability to float industrial development lease revenue bond issues, and how such a structure does not place the bond default risk on the public government. That guy was me. Trouble is, the SF Chronicle writer is one who, in 2012, tried to do a very inaccurate piece about the mentioning me while she was with the East Bay Express, and so I told her never to contact me again (http://ift.tt/1iYCpgh) - so it's no wonder she and the photog deliberately failed to mention my name. Too bad personal dislike, and a does of racism on their part, causes bad journalism, but that's the case with the SF Chronicle. Any good journalist, which don't seem to be in abundance with the San Francisco Chronicle, would bother to talk to me (as I advise Schaaf on this matter) do research and learn what I have written for some time: that there are sports stadium deals that have been done and which don't call for a public subsidy or bond default protection by the government. One example is the one done for the stadium for the Houston Texans - the bonds did default and because of the way the deal was written, the City of Houston and Harris County weren't on the hook for the bond defaults. You can also look at the deal for the Carson NFL Stadium, too. The one that the Raiders seem to want to have done is such that no public money has been called for, and Goldman Sachs has said it will cover cost overruns. You'd think any SF Bay Area journalist would have BOTHERED to read the documents associated with that deal, but NO. Lazy, man.

Oakland, San Diego, St. Louis In NYC For NFL Stadium Presentations
Oakland, San Diego, and St. Louis NFL Stadium Presentation Teams will be at NFL Headquarters tomorrow, Veterans Day, to make the case that each city has a stadium plan to keep their teams and not lose them to Los Angeles. The meetings will go from 12 noon to 6 PM and each team gets 45 min, including a Q and A from the 17 expected members of the NFL Ownership. The presentation groups are as different as the politics and time related to each city's effort. For Oakland, the presentation team consists of Mayor Libby Schaaf, Oakland Councilmember Larry Reid (District 7), and Larry Gallegoes from the City of Oakland's economic development team, as well as other staffers and consultants. This is Oakland's first time before about half of the NFL Owners, let alone any group of them. The City (and the East Bay Entities) have to show it has a stadium plan, as many in the NFL don't believe it does. Mayor Schaaf's message to the media has changed from one that was focused on selling the region, to one that says Oakland can build a stadium. That's a good start. San Diego will be represented by Mayor Kevin Faulconer, San Diego County Supervisor Rob Roberts, and Stadium Negotiator Chris Melvin. San Diego has a stadium plan and has made great progress this year. It also has a stadium task force that was formed by the Mayor. Where questions lay is in the environmental impact report and whether it will survive a court challenge. Of all stadium proposals, including the one's in Carson and in Inglewood, St. Louis' is the one that's the most real and ready to go. The St. Louis' presentation team will consists of its stadium task force head David Peacock and his number two Bill Blitz, as well as stadium task force representatives and consultants. St. Louis has not just a plan, but a naming rights agreement, just hired \a construction manager, and a cool video to get folks excited. Eagles 33, Cowboys 27 OT SNF - Dallas Loses 6th Straight Game. The Dallas Cowboys have lost more straight games than at anytime since 1989. The overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles had Dallas typically undisciplined approach. Perhaps one day they will figure it out. Meanwhile the Eagles have won four of their last six games.

USC Band Rudely Mocks Cal Fans After Win
It wasn't enough that USC beat Cal 27 to 21 in a game Cal should have won - The Trojans had to rub it in our face by parading through the neighborhood and doing a song and dance that could only be called mocking. No class.
