YouTube Creators Want To Make Money, So What?

YouTube Creators want to make money from their videos and should not be shamed for that. I am responding to a Twitter Tweet by Tim Schmoyer, who says its "disappointing" to learn that YT Creators care about making money. But it is a common desire to want to make money at what you like - that is true for YouTube. But also YouTube itself has touted the virtues of making a living via its partner program. YouTube has said it wants Vlogging and video making to be the YouTubers only job. That means making money. So there!

Video Shows Sam DuBose Murdered By Ray Tensing Of University Of Cincinnati Police

A video clearly shows how University Of Cincinnati Police Officer Ray Tensing killed an unarmed 43-year old black man named Samuel DuBose during a routine traffic stop. You can hear Tensing ask him to get out of the car and when Sam just goes to get his keys to turn off the car, Tensing says " what is that?" and shoots him in the head. Then Tensing runs away from him and then comes back to the car where DuBose is dead, and makes up a story saying DuBose grazed or hit him with the car. This is awful. Tensing was charged with murder.

Alameda County Wants To Sell Its Share Of Oakland Coliseum

Alameda County wants to sell its part of the ownership of the Oakland Coliseum to the City of Oakland. That idea was announced in a press release issued by Alameda County Supervisor Nate Miley moments ago. The implications behind this are huge. What happens to the JPA? Miley says that the sale will help pay off Raider bonds. But to me it's also a signal that Oakland still lacks a good plan to retain the Raiders. Stay tuned.

Eric Grubman Met With Raiders Officials Just Now

NFL EVP Eric Grubman just met with Oakland Raiders Officials at Raiders Headquarters. I caught up with him at Oakland Airport Southwest Terminal where he politely said "no comment". It seemed like a small meeting and Raiders President Marc Badain gave Grubman a ride to the airport. I didn't see any city or county officials at Raiders HQ - that doesn't mean they were not there. Eric Grubman also told me "they're not looking at your proposal" to which I said "I know that." "They're looking at something else," he said.

CNN's Jake Tapper says Texas Governor Rick Perry thinks state should allow open carry of guns in theaters. So ask him if Texas will cover lawsuit costs from shootings that happen in theaters with open carry laws? The reason theaters have a no guns policy is to avoid lawsuits that would happen if they did allow guns. Gun advocates don't seem to think through policy ideas.

Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown Passes At 22 Years Old

Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown, Whitney Houston's only child, passed away in an Atlanta hospice center Sunday night. She was found unresponsive in a bathtub January 31, and has been in a coma since. Her family stopped her medication. According to CNN her death is considered a criminal act on the part of her boyfriend Nick Gordon. That anyone would be in such a position is shameful to say the least. Her mother passed away in 2012, found in a tub of water just before the Grammys. Now they are both together.

NY Times Taye Diggs was the focus of a profile written by James Hannaham that said "If you start to salivate when you hear the phrase 'black men with jobs' then Diggs is your guy." The NY Times kept that in the profile because James Hannaham, who is black, argued for its retention. I disagree because it says that most black men don't have jobs. Do I think Mr. Hannaham should be fired? No. But then I do not think the comment should be allowed. Just because James is black is no excuse.

The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas Hotel Fire started when a fryer on the 14th Floor was somehow set ablaze. The flames touched a palm street and then spread to many of them but the fire never entered the hotel. Two were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

YouTube New App At Vid Con; Monetization Controls?

YouTube unveiled its new mobile app at Vid Con and to much fanfare. It has the ability to make a video vertically and new editing controls. All well and good but it seems to be missing the monetization controls YouTube Partners asked for. If I make a video of a breaking news event using my iPhone, I often have to wait a long time before I get to my computer and activate my monetization controls. Thus, I lose money by not being able to take advantage of the traffic! The new YouTube app was supposed to have solved that problem.

Minnesota Vikings Will Win NFC North In 2015

The Minnesota Vikings will win the NFC North Title in 2015. The Vikings have Adrian Peterson, who is arguably the best running back in the NFL, returning for a comeback year and with a lot to prove. Peterson is teamed with the NFL's best rookie QB Teddy Bridgewater, who enters his second year more comfortable in an offense he excelled in last year. The Vikings will be tested by the new look Chicago Bears coached by Jon Fox and with Adam Gase as offensive coordinator. The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions will fight for third and fourth place. Overall it will be a close race.
